ShiftPilot Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the ShiftPilot mobile app (com.mertapp.shiftpilot) on iOS and Android. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. ShiftPilot is not medical advice

Never delay or disregard professional medical advice because of something you read in ShiftPilot. If you have persistent insomnia, signs of sleep apnea, severe mood changes, or you are falling asleep while driving or at work, see a doctor. In an emergency, contact your local emergency service.

You are responsible for judging whether you are fit to work. ShiftPilot's recovery score is an estimate built from what you type into it, and it says nothing about your fitness for duty.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and UK) to use ShiftPilot. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything done under your account. Give accurate information — the app's advice is built from the profile you enter.

Guest accounts have no credentials attached and cannot be recovered if you uninstall the app or change device. Adding a real account upgrades a guest account in place and keeps its data.

3. Free and Premium tiers

The free tier includes shift planning, the recovery dashboard, daily logs and one AI Coach question per day. ShiftPilot Premium unlocks unlimited AI coaching (subject to a fair-use ceiling that guards against automated abuse), weekly trend charts and monthly reports.

4. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

• Premium is offered as a monthly or a yearly auto-renewing subscription. The exact price and any free trial are shown on the purchase screen in your own currency before you buy.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is switched off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Cancel any time in your Apple Account or Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
• Deleting your ShiftPilot account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel with Apple or Google first.

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, not by us. We cannot issue or reverse a charge on your behalf.

5. Price changes

We may change subscription pricing. Any change applies only from your next renewal, and Apple or Google will notify you and ask for your consent where their rules require it. You can always cancel before the new price takes effect.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use ShiftPilot to break the law, do not attempt to bypass the paywall or usage limits, do not automate or resell access to the AI Coach, and do not reverse-engineer, scrape or overload the service. We may suspend an account that does any of these.

7. The AI Coach

AI Coach replies are generated by a language model. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and they are not reviewed by a clinician before you see them. Use your own judgment. Do not send information you would not want processed by a third-party AI provider — see the Privacy Policy for who handles it.

8. Availability

We aim to keep ShiftPilot running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and parts of the app depend on third parties (Google Firebase, Google Gemini, RevenueCat, Apple and Google) whose outages are outside our control. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and stop billing.

9. Your content

Your shifts, notes and profile remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store, process and display them back to you and to generate coaching replies. We do not sell them or use them to train AI models.

10. Liability

ShiftPilot is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any decision you make about work, driving, health or medication based on the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

These terms do not affect statutory consumer rights you have where you live.

11. Termination

You may stop using ShiftPilot at any time and delete your account from Profile → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms. Deletion is permanent and immediate.

12. Apple-specific terms

For the iOS app: this agreement is between you and ShiftPilot, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support, and is not liable for any claim relating to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect, and the date above will change. Continuing to use ShiftPilot after that means you accept the new terms.
